One Vision Many Voices will be hosting 11 FREE events from October 2012 – April 2013! Each event is a celebration of Appalachian culture and an opportunity to connect with people in our community. See our events map or click on the links below for more details.

- Sat, October 6th: Homeground Festival with Roy Brown – Appalachian history, archeology and culture + a whole festival of events about our mountain home.
- Sun, October 7th: Bicycle Workshop + Community Trail Ride – Learn to work on your bike and ride up the Allegany Highlands Trail.
- Weds, October 10th: Music From the Mines (with Amy Fabbri) + Coal Talk – Mining culture’s influence on Appalachian music, live ballads and dulcimer performance and oral history of life in the mines.
- Sat, October 13th: It’s All Uphill to Oakland! The Saga of the B&O’s ’17 mile grade’ with Pat Stakem and a train photography competition – @ Autumn Glory Fest. A journey into local rail culture… past, present and future Presented by Pat Stakem of Johns Hopkins+ a photo competition.
- Mon, October 22nd: An Echo in the Hills: Poetry Slam Competition and Performance with Allan Wolf

The programs are being facilitated with support from Frostburg State University students enrolled in SOCI 350: Folklore in Appalachia. The course is a participant in the Appalachian Regional Commission’s Appalachian Teaching Project, involving 15 institutions of higher education providing students with experiential learning opportunities in service to the Appalachian region.
